What can cosmetic dentistry change?

We first separate colour, shape, spacing, tooth position and loss of tooth tissue. These are different concerns, and the appropriate option depends on their cause and the health of your teeth. An attractive result may need only a small change. We discuss what treatment can change, its limits and future maintenance.

Whitening, veneers or clear aligners?

Whitening addresses certain types of discolouration, porcelain veneers change the visible surfaces of selected teeth, and ClearCorrect or Invisalign clear aligners move teeth. These treatments serve different purposes. Combining approaches can sometimes preserve more tooth structure while addressing your goals.

Do I need a complete smile makeover?

Not necessarily. Start by identifying what you want changed and what you already like. A focused change to one tooth or a small group may meet your goals. We can discuss limited, staged or more comprehensive treatment without assuming every visible tooth needs work. Keeping your natural character is a valid preference.

Can you repair a small chip with bonding?

Selected chips may be repaired with tooth-coloured material. A localized bonded repair is different from covering the entire front of a tooth with composite. We check whether the chip reflects a structural or bite problem; the defect's size and contact with opposing teeth affect whether a repair is suitable and how it may perform.

How do you plan an aesthetic result?

We assess your teeth, gums and bite alongside the features you would like to change or preserve. Photographs or scans help us consider proportions, gum contours and lip movement. The proposed result, limitations and any irreversible preparation are explained before treatment.

Will cosmetic treatment affect healthy tooth structure?

Some treatments involve irreversible preparation, while others preserve more tooth tissue. Whitening and orthodontic movement have different trade-offs from removing enamel for veneers or crowns. We explain how much tooth would change, whether a less invasive option could meet your goal, and what maintenance may follow.
